Health & Safety Policy

1. Purpose

The purpose of The Health & Safety Policy (hereinafter referred to as “the policy”) and Dubai Vigilance Group (hereinafter referred to as “the company”) is to set out to clarify that The Company is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all workers (including contractors & consultants) as well as clients, visitors and members of the public. In accordance with UAE Federal Labor Law under Articles 91 to 110.

2. Scope

The Company’s Policy Statement applies to all employees, permanent and fixed term employees. The responsibility for managing health and safety ultimately rests with the management. Workers also have important responsibilities for health and safety in the workplace.

3. General Guidelines

Our approach to Health & safety as far as is reasonably attainable will be:

  1. To provide a safe place of work
  2. To continue to identify and control hazards
  3. To prevent as far as is reasonably possible, any improper conduct of behavior likely to put the Safety, Health & Welfare of employees at risk
  4. To consult with staff on all Health & Safety matters
  5. To provide a safe means of entering and leaving the office
  6. To provide a safe system of work practices
  7. To provide appropriate information and training to staff memberson a continuous basis
  8. To make Health & Safety a key issue

Management will:

  1. Ensure the business complies with all legislation relating to health and safety
  2. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for employees, in addition to conforming to all current statutory requirements
  3. Supervise workers to ensure work activities are performed safely
  4. Maintain a vigilant and continuing interest in Health & Safety matters relevant to both company and staff.
  5. Provide information, instruction and training to enable all workers to work safely

Employee will:

  1. Cooperate with the company in maintaining a safe workplace
  2. Be aware of the nearest emergency exits, fire fighting and first aid equipments
  3. Take reasonable care for their own health and safety
  4. Follow safe work procedures, instructions and rules
  5. Report all health, safety hazards, injuries and incidents

Smoking/Alcohol and Drugs

  • It is not permitted to attend work under the influence of liquor or drugs. The smoking of tobacco products is prohibited in the office. Smoking can take place in the designated areas of the building.

Reporting of Accidents:

Staff are required to report all accidents and near misses, whether resulting in injury or not to management. The following details are required:

  1. Date, time and place of the incident
  2. Name, address, occupation and age of the injured person
  3. Circumstances, including cause and nature of the injury and the arrangements made for its treatment

Accidents involving persons who are not members of staff but are visiting or working on the premises must also be reported.

Fire Procedures:

All staff should be familiar with the exit routes and should also know the location and type of fire extinguishers in the office.

If you discover a fire you should:

  1. Activate the fire alarm
  2. Do not under any circumstances, expose yourself to danger
  3. The HSO should check all rooms and bathrooms in the office to ensure all staff leave the office
  4. Leave the building by the nearest fire exit and proceed to your designated assembly point

If you hear the fire alarm you should:

  1. Switch off any equipment under your control and leave the building by the nearest exit
  2. Do not stop to collect personal belongings.
  3. Once outside, do not enter the building until you are told it is safe to do so

First Aid:

First aid boxes are provided to ensure that first aid supplies are easily accessible when required in an emergency. Pain medication are not provided in the First Aid Boxes.

Agreement

This policy is a clear and concise document outlining the Health & Safety Policy Statement of Dubai Vigilance Group and will be maintained on a regular basis.
